The main purpose of the Technical Assistance was to support quantitative and qualitative monitoring of health and education expenditure in developing countries and promote debate and public awareness on the achievements of EU assistance in these fields.
It also aimed to:
- Provide a comprehensive picture of the overall EC health and education expenditure in developing countries over the period 2007-2009 in the context of EU collective support;
- Conduct a pilot-study in a range of recipient countries to analyse EC expenditure and observe how it fits into the broader national context.
