Evaluation of SOFID's (Portuguese Development Financing Institution) contribute for development in the 2007-2014 period
The evaluation of the operation of SOFID in promoting development in the period 2007-2014, focused on the criteria:

- Relevance - To what extent the positioning and performance of SOFID are aligned with its mandate, the partner countries' priorities and the priorities of the Portuguese cooperation?
- Effectiveness - To what extent the services and products offered by SOFID and synergies between the actors of cooperation and economic growth were enabling of the investments of Portuguese companies in emerging and developing countries?
- Efficiency - To what extent the performance and the resources of SOFID led to secure access to financial products and services for private sector, as an actor of the Portuguese cooperation?
- Impact- To what extent the projects supported by SOFID produced impacts on the development of partner countries?
- Sustainability - To what extent the objectives achieved by projects supported by SOFID present conditions to be sustained, once the funding ends, and to what extent these objectives are achieved in environmentally and socially sustainable way?

It was also taken into account the additionality as potentially distinguishing factor of SOFID in relation to commercial banking.

This analysis addressed two dimensions:
- The performance of SOFID - strategic plans and activity reports as well as their internal processes;
- The effects produced by the projects supported
- In the period SOFID signed a contract for financial support to 18 projects in Mozambique, Angola, Brazil, South Africa, Morocco and Mexico.
