The project aims to contribute to maximize the positive potential wealth for future mining and minimize the risk that such wealth can put in a fragile environment. It also aims to improve governance and institutional performance to the extractive industries.
It assists the development and implementation of Guinea-Bissau mining policy and the capacity building of its staff by conducting a number of activities: evaluation of the initial situation, comparative analysis (benchmarks), formulation of recommendations, preparation of legal texts and implementation of training actions.
