This project assisted the National Health Development Programme, in order to improve the primary health care services, the secondary and tertiary referral system and the efficiency of human resources management, and to implement infrastructures and equipments of a monitoring system.
Among other tasks, the technical assistance carried out several activities supporting the management, developed architectural and technical studies, collaborated in the development and implementation of operational and financial rules and procedures, supported the launch of tenders for the purchase of equipment, construction and rehabilitation works in basic health infrastructure in the autonomous sector of Bissau, the health regions and the National Hospital Simão Mendes, supported the strengthening of management and maintenance systems, and ensured the training of staff responsible for project management.
