The Latin America and the Caribbean - Policy Dialogue Support Facility (PDSF EU-LAC) aims to deepen the EU’s engagement with the region on thematic areas of strategic interest.
It will seek to advance policy dialogues where there is a high potential to advance, focusing on regional groups and countries who are willing and able to go further to promote common goals.
The PDSF will contribute ultimately to bring concrete returns for the EU’s foreign affairs policy goals in LAC, further progress towards policy and regulatory convergence and alignment of positions and policy objectives in the global arena.
The PDSF EU-LAC will contribute to the strengthening of the 4 overall priorities named under the EU and LAC agenda:
Prosperity, democracy, resilience and effective global governance. Within these identified priorities, there are several the areas for dialogue and cooperation for a more strategic and targeted engagement with the region, namely : governance, resilience and democracy; digital economy; innovation; promotion of decent work, labour standards, and social cohesion; productivity and circular economy; maritime transport; competition, including subsidies and a subsidy control mechanism; space programmes and Earth observation; public procurement; quality infrastructure; renewable energy, environment; financial regulation; culture, migration, citizen security prosperity and economic growth.
