This year the European Development Days is going to be a hybrid event, this means that it will take place both physically at the Brussels EXPO, as well as online. CESO will be present to acquire know-how on the relevant issues for the future of international cooperation and then be able to better provide a customized and up-to-date approach to each project.
For its 15th edition, the EDD will be dedicated to the theme ‘Global Gateway: building sustainable partnerships for a connected world’. The programme will have more than 90 sessions and is once again being co-created with the EDD community.
Over the course of the sessions the participants can explore the geopolitical, financial, and geographical aspects of this year’s theme and yet resilient health systems, and food security. Also, it will be discuss the impact of the Global Gateway flagships in Africa, Latin America, Central Asia, Indo-Pacific, and the EU's neighbouring countries.
Throughout these two days of the EDD event, there are going to be several initiatives that meets priorities of some of the projects we are working on.
As an example, we can point out the EU-LAC Policy Dialogue Support Facility (EU-LAC PDSF) project. Within it we are preparing the kick-off of an initiative focusing on EU-LAC regulatory convergence in the digital sphere, including on 5G, Internet of Things, Artificial Intelligence, standardisation on technologies for digital transformation or European Global Navigation Satellite Systems amongst others. Therefor it is important to attend to the relevant sessions as “Using geospacial data to develop economy innovation in Africa & Latin America” or the “The Geopolitics of the Global Gateway “.
