The overall objective of the programme in which this project is inserted is to contribute to the progress of public finance reform in Sao Tome and Principe in the context of governance improvement that contribute to the socioeconomic development of the country and improve the living conditions of the population of Sao Tome and Principe.
Specifically, the project seeks to consolidate the achievements in the scope of the technical assistances previously carried out in the country in the field of public finance, as well as to prepare the part related with the public finance in the PAST-FP project, namely:
- Improving the transparency and democratic accountability of the process of public financial management;
- Improving the organisation and participation in the annual budgetary procedure.
