The project aimed to improve the management capacity of the agricultural sector, by providing technical assistance to the General Directorate of Agriculture, Forestry and Livestock on the programming, appraisal and implementation of EU funding, but also on specialized topics: protected crops and micro-irrigation, horticulture, plant protection, packaging, marketing of tropical fruits and vegetables.
On these specialized areas, the Ministry’s staff received training, the startup of agricultural projects was supported, the technical framework for community projects was made, investigation techniques for the production and development of fruit were improved (in conjunction with the National Institute of Agricultural Development and Research - INIDA) and, finally, was promoted the articulation with other donors involved in the sector.
